With Louisville’s loss of top wide receiver, Devante Parker, who can step up to breakout in this 2015-2016 season? Well, there’s a freshman out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida that might just do the job. Devante Peete, our prediction for breakout player on offense, is currently sitting behind Ja’Quay Savage at the #2 WR position. He’s 6’6(!) and 205 pounds. He was the 43rd receiver in the recruiting class according to 247 Sports(Parker was 41, similar eh?)and is a 3 star. Hopefully he fits the job in his next few years at UofL and here I’ll explain how he might just become the piece we need.
First, lets talk about height. He’s 6’6. Just imagine Bonnafon or any other quarterback in trouble, and they throw it to Peete who’s going to win 9/10 height battles. This guy is a big time get and could be almost as big of a sleeper coming out of high school as Parker or even Bridgewater. Louisville seems to get those two and three stars that breakout and I’m thinking because of height, this could be true.
I also think he fits Petrino’s style of deep throws. This guy wants deep balls. He’s not a guy like Eli Rogers who goes for quick, short passes. He”ll definitely find a way to get open and create big time plays.
Overall, this guy wants to wreck Auburn. Look for Peete to make an impact throughout the season!
